The colours and textures of Veronica's cushions are inspired by the pebbles she found on Gylen beach on the island of Kerrera, just across the bay from the small port of Oban on the west coast of Scotland. It takes 3-4 weeks to create a collection of five cushions. This includes the time to set up the loom, weave the fabric and make up the cushions. "Making the initial sketches and collages from the original source of inspiration comes before all this" she says. A selection of the following yarns are used: merino lambswool (spun in Yorkshire), British wool, organic alpaca, wool spun in Italy by Sesia and various hands-spun wool yarns from her own collection. Handwoven honeycomb wallhanging

This handmade vase is made by Lonneke van Roessel. This item could be used as a sculpture in your interior, or as a vase. This item is NOT glazed, but you can easily use a cut off bottle and place this inside as a water holder. The shape of this vase is very difficult to make sturdy. It therefore takes a long time to build large shapes. The clay must regularly dry in between and Lonneke works with many layers. Sometimes she also uses ash, oxide or pigment in het work. We fell in love with the rawness of it. You can literally see how her hands built this piece and that makes her work so personal. Lonneke started at the turntable and continued with manual construction. The last one felt most suitable for her, so that’s what she does most. Karameloti one of the most complicated and well known weaving patterns from Greece and especially Karia. This particular exemplar is one of the last blankets made by Vanthoula. It's over 60 years old and in perfect condition. These kind of blankets are not made to wrap around yourself on the couch (because the fabric can be a little stiff). The colours and textures of Veronica's cushions are inspired by the pebbles she found on Gylen beach on the island of Kerrera, Scotland. It takes 3-4 weeks to create a collection of five cushions.
