This very special blanket is a one of a kind item from our LOA exclusives. Tis weaving technique, that is typical for Karia (Lefkas, Greece), is called Karameloti and is on the verge of extinction. Karameloti one of the most complicated and well known weaving patterns from Greece and especially Karia. This particular exemplar is one of the last blankets made by Vanthoula. It's over 60 years old and in perfect condition. These kind of blankets are not made to wrap around yourself on the couch (because the fabric can be a little stiff). You can use it as a blanket, bedcover or simply drape it around your favourite reading chair. It's made to look at and enlighten the room with colour en joy! But that's up to you of course! Crystal vase I

This fine shin work basket is made with a lot of patience and love by Dutch master artisan Esmé Hofman. Esme's work is known worldwide and she even won a prestigious award in Japan at the Hokuriku Kogei summit. Esmé made this basket exclusively for LOA, so you can't find it anywhere else. It's perfect for keeping your treasures safe or store your jewellery in. Fine shin work baskets and jewellery have a long interesting history together! It takes about 12 days to make this basket, including the design of the basket, preparing the material and manufacturing the mold. Fine shin work, an extremely labour-intensive technique, is in danger of dying out. But as a contemporary basket maker, Esmé is versatile and likes to experiment with free forms, rather than being bound by functionality. She explored techniques with the need to master the craft and create a high quality object. In this way she hopes to preserve basket weaving for the future. Please note: This is a handmade item. Isaac managed to grow natural crystals and influence their shape and form. In fact, he has created a completely new craft. This piece of jewellery is inspired by amber, a natural gemstone that sometimes contains small insects. Because it is liquid at first, it sometimes contains leaves or insects. This hand turned bowl is a true showpiece that we are very proud of. It's made by Dutch master artisan Jan Hovens. He told us that this bowl had been in his collection for a long time, but he wasn't ready to sell it because it has such meaning to him personally. He felt like LOA was the right place for this piece to find a new home. This bowl is made out of a large piece of robina wood with the natural edge preserved. The mastery required to process the wood in this way is exceptional. The color, super soft texture and shape of this piece is amazing. These gorgeous cushions are created bij English master artisan Veronica Pock. The colours and textures of Veronica's cushions are inspired by the pebbles she found on Gylen beach on the island of Kerrera, Scotland. It takes 3-4 weeks to create a collection of five cushions. This includes the time to set up the loom, weave the fabric and make up the cushions. "Making the initial sketches and collages from the original source of inspiration comes before all this" she says. This beautiful handmade bowl is made by Lonneke van Roessel. Lonneke started at the turntable and continued with manual construction. The last one felt most suitable for her, so that’s what she does most. She only works with coarse clay and builds her sculptures layer bij layer. It takes about 3 weeks to make this bowl. The clay must regularly dry in between and Lonneke works with many layers. Sometimes she also uses ash, oxide or pigment in het work. We fell in love with the rawness of it. You can literally see how her hands built this piece and that makes her work so personal. This item could be used as a sculpture in your interior, but also as a functioning bowl.
