This handmade vase is made by Lonneke van Roessel.

This item could be used as a sculpture in your interior, or as a vase. This item is NOT glazed, but you can easily use a cut off bottle and place this inside as a water holder. The shape of this vase is very difficult to make sturdy. It therefore takes a long time to build large shapes.

The clay must regularly dry in between and Lonneke works with many layers. Sometimes she also uses ash, oxide or pigment in het work. We fell in love with the rawness of it. You can literally see how her hands built this piece and that makes her work so personal.

Lonneke started at the turntable and continued with manual construction. The last one felt most suitable for her, so that’s what she does most. She only works with coarse clay and builds her sculptures layer bij layer.
