Karameloti one of the most complicated and well known weaving patterns from Greece and especially Karia. This particular exemplar is one of the last blankets made by Vanthoula. It's over 60 years old and in perfect condition. These kind of blankets are not made to wrap around yourself on the couch (because the fabric can be a little stiff). Isaac managed to grow natural crystals and influence their shape and form. In fact, he has created a completely new craft. These gorgeous cushions are created bij English master artisan Veronica Pock. The colours and textures of Veronica's cushions are inspired by the pebbles she found on Gylen beach on the island of Kerrera, Scotland. It takes 3-4 weeks to create a collection of five cushions. This includes the time to set up the loom, weave the fabric and make up the cushions. "Making the initial sketches and collages from the original source of inspiration comes before all this" she says. Veronica believes that textiles have a permanence and meaning in peoples’ lives, carrying memories and traditions. Her woven pieces will speak to people and become a treasured belonging, something to keep and use time and time again, year after year. A thing of beauty and functionality.
