Made by Veronica Pock
This framed wall-hanging has a beautiful soft pink color and is created by English master artisan Veronica Pock.
The map used in this wallhanging is a vintage trekking map of the Himalayas. A place on earth that she would love to discover one day. By using vintage materials, she aims to give ‘unwanted’ materials a second life.
We especially love her work because of the ancient weaving wisdom it holds. Everything that Veronica creates has a certain peace and serenity about it.
It took up to 3 days to create this wall-hanging. This includes the time to set up the loom, weave the fabric and make up the design.
Veronica believes that textiles have a permanence and meaning in peoples’ lives, carrying memories and traditions. Her woven pieces will speak to people and become a treasured belonging, something to keep and use time and time again, year after year. A thing of beauty and functionality.
A selection of the following materials are used: the warp is linen, cotton, hemp, silk, mixed reclaimed yarns; the weft is a vintage trekking map (1980) of the Himalayas, with unbleached linen yarn inserts.
Technique: handwoven on an electronic ‘Arm’ loom.
