These gorgeous cushions are created bij English master artisan Veronica Pock. The colours and textures of Veronica's cushions are inspired by the pebbles she found on Gylen beach on the island of Kerrera, Scotland.
It takes 3-4 weeks to create a collection of five cushions. This includes the time to set up the loom, weave the fabric and make up the cushions. "Making the initial sketches and collages from the original source of inspiration comes before
all this" she says.
Veronica believes that textiles have a permanence and meaning in peoples’ lives, carrying memories and traditions. Her woven pieces will speak to people and become a treasured belonging, something to keep and use time and time again, year after year. A thing of beauty and functionality.
A selection of the following yarns are used: merino lambswool (spun in Yorkshire), British wool, organic alpaca, wool spun in Italy by Sesia and various hands-spun wool yarns from her own collection.
Filling: 100% recycled polyester
Technique: handwoven on an electronic ‘Arm’ loom.
